We're two Aussie guys with an awesome plan to take on the exciting Real Estate Technology space in the UK, Asia, and Australia, and the seed funding to make it happen.

The Story

Buying a house, anywhere in the world, is a pain in the ass. You need to find a house, get a loan, get inspections, get insurance, make sure that there is a fence around the pool so no unsuspecting kids fall in....and dozens of other tasks too. Well, we are building a SaaS website to help make this process much easier for buyers. And also make life easier for the real estate agents who need to manage the buyers to make sure that the whole thing goes smoothly.

The Job Description

So, you've gathered, we're a Real Estate Tech startup looking for an amazing lead developer that can grow with the business. We already have designed our wireframes for the minimum viable product. Your initial role will be:

  • Build the website and turn our wireframes into reality

  • Setup our website on AWS

  • Use best practices and responsive design so that mobile users on iPhone or Android don't hate our guts

  • Keep adding new features as we come up with them (there is a massive list) to make life easier for Real Estate Agents and Home Buyers

  • Customer support - everyone shares customer support till we are big enough to hire someone to do that full time.

Technical Challenges

As the lead developer you will be the number one driving force behind the success of our business! It's an online business, so if the website or mobile experience sucks, we are screwed! You'll need to build a clever question engine to allow us to ask customers questions and decipher the mess of laws that differ in every country, state, county, and city in the world. You'll need to build loads of tools for agents to help them book inspections and track buyers and communicate with third parties. You'll need to do a heap of other stuff too, that we can tell you more about later.

Frequently Asked Questions (well, they aren't that frequently asked, but we'll answer them for you)

How far along are you? We have $800k funding, an awesome ex-Bain/Oxford MBA co-founder CEO, an ace successful serial entrepreneur co-founder chairman, a complete set of wireframes and some page designs.

I don't want a stressful job, should I apply? No. This is a fast paced job, where we wish the site was finished yesterday. It's imperative we get the site finished as quick as possible, so we want someone that can work quickly to make that a reality. That said, we also understand software needs to be done properly (without cutting too many corners) and we also understand that overdoing the stress just leads to burn-out.

Who is your favourite Spice Girl? Baby Spice.

Important Note

Show us what you have already built! We don't care how old you are, or even where you live. Walk the walk. If you've built something cool, show us and also tell us, exactly what you did as part of that job. Any contributions on Github will be looked favorably upon too.

Application Process

We'll be screening resumes, then ask interesting applicants to sit an online test, and then do a couple face to face or Skype interviews. The winner will be rewarded handsomely with fun co-workers, a great package, and entrepreneurial founders who are happy to share in the upside down the track once you've proven you are the right person!
